Accident investigations
Our company policy is to investigate all:
- accidents that result in injuries that require time lost from work;
- accidents that result in injuries that require medical assistance;
- accidents that result in damage to equipment, materials or property with the potential loss of $1,000 or more; and
- incidents or “near misses” that could have resulted in a fatality, serious injury or property loss.
The Supervisor immediately in charge of manpower or operations affected by an accident will conduct the investigation along with the Worker Safety Representative or member of the Safety & Health Committee, if established. Should a fatality or serious injury occur, the Supervisor must immediately seek the assistance of the Superintendent.
