The position will be responsible for managing the day to day Field Operations associated with quarry and gravel pits including set up, aggregate production and sourcing. This role supervises and directs the selection, training, development, appraisals and work assignments of employees. This position inspects work in progress and ensures that it is performed to company standards, as well as trouble shoot technical issues.

Specific duties will include:

  • Oversee aggregate operations, including aggregate plant operations and mobile equipment maintenance and selection of equipment at assigned locations
  • Assist in developing and implementing an effective equipment maintenance plan
  • Assist in developing plans to work towards increased performance and lower operating costs
  • Ability to aid in future planning, schedule, and execute and supervise all aspects of aggregate production
  • Enforce company safety compliance
  • Ensure all  operations are in full compliance with regulations from various governing bodies
  • Maintain strong customer and supplier relationships
  • Manage sub trades on site to ensure they maintain schedule and are performing required work to specified expectations
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to coworkers, supervisors, customers and the general public at all times

Qualifications included:

  • Solid judgement and quality focus is required in all duties
  • 5-10 years supervisory and management experience in crushing production and site management in the aggregate industry
  • Familiar with aggregate specs
  • Knowledge of crushing equipment repair and preventative maintenance
  • Experience with all aspects of aggregate site management including permitting, earthmoving, crushing, and washing production, load out
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Display professionalism toward co-workers, supervisors, and customers
  • Solid judgement and quality focus
  • Regular out of town work and travel and the ability to work weekends as required

Under the supervision of the Safety Manager, the Utility Locator will provide underground utility locates as required. The successful candidate will work closely with the other locators to fulfil the needs of the business.

As a locator your duties will include:

  • Identify and mark underground utilities using electronic locating equipment
  • Work closely with the Project managers/Supervisor/Foreman/Crew to determine job requirements and timelines
  • Communicate site location and scope of work to utility owners as required using computer and phone methods
  • Extensive computer use for communication and map making
  • Hand digging required to assist in locates
  • Daily travel to jobs required

Your experience includes:

  • High School or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Construction or locating experience an asset
  • Use of computers including web forms, e-mail and excel spreadsheets


  • Must have a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Have a reliable vehicle to use for work
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to multitask including managing e-mail and voicemail regularly
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to work weekends in a rotating on call schedule
  • Willing to work long hours primarily outdoors
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and independently as well as within a team
  • Must thrive with a hectic workload and pace

Requirements for the positon:

A minimum 2 years’ related experience that includes ability to install fire hydrants, valves, water services, manholes, catch basins and piping.  He/She.must be reliable, able to work long hours, and work out of town on occasion.

Security and Safety
Basic security clearance; Criminal record check; driving record check (abstract)

Steel-toed safety boots and hard hat are required

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
Physically demanding position including work in various weather conditions, able to work some emergency work on weekends
